Well worth the money $$$$$ This DVR has many options that even my $399.00 Samsung doesn’t. Record quality is just as good as many other DVR’s I have built. Only way to get any better quality is to go with higher priced HD DVR and HD cameras. I installed a new 1 TB Hard WD Purple hard drive that I purchased on Amazon for $69.00 specialty made for 24 hour security recording. The DVR does come with 4 mounting screws that screw in from the bottom into the hard drive inside. Piece of cake to install and put cover back on. Turned DVR on. It said formatting Hard Drive on screen for 5 seconds and it was done. Went to menu settings and placed hard drive to read/ write mode and was up and running. It has a Motion record mode as well as a full-time and schedule record mode. The Small Paper instruction manual isn’t very helpful but it does include a CD that might have a full manual. I will be buying another one of these soon. If you are not very DVR Savy and haven’t set up a DVR before then I wouldn’t recommend this one…

Not at all what I expected. The instruction manual was impossible to read without using reading or magnifying glasses( Thank goodnes for pdf’s ) . Remote came with no batteries, but I had extras. The web interface is only fully functional in IE w/activeX, even though the Amazon description says it is compatible with Firefox as well, which is one of the reasons I bought it in the first place. The Android app from website crashes on my tablet when used. The app is totally useless so far. I am currently testing out all of the functions. You may want to use a 2.5″ HD instead of 3.5″ HD, as the power supply for the DVR is only good up to 2.5A . The cloud service seems to be based in China, which “may” pose a security risk. I see no provision for configuring a NTP (time ) server ip, so this may point to a server in China also. I am saddened to say this but, this unit is actually making my current Zmodo dvrs ( which I thought were bad ) look pretty good.
